I lead software teams at EssilorLuxottica, drawing on decades of hands-on work, from device drivers and expert systems to modern web applications in .NET, React and Azure. Today I build with large language models such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, and mentor my developers on using AI to build applications.

About

I've spent more than four decades in full life-cycle software architecture, design and development, across industries and platforms from IBM mainframes to the Azure cloud. Along the way I've worked with IBM, Cisco, AMD, EDS, Lockheed Martin and USAA, on everything from BIOS-level code to self-learning AI systems.

I specialize in algorithms for hard problems. At AMD I worked with the University of Texas AI Lab on an expert system that taught new engineers the 80x86 instruction set. For the U.S. Air Force I built machine-learning software that predicted an aircraft's possible destinations from its heading, speed and fuel.

I'm also a mentor at heart: I've built and led teams in test-driven, agile development, and I enjoy exploring philosophy, science and theology, and I'm a strong advocate for critical thinking and logic.
